In the Engineering Hangar we have a varied range of engineering positions to complete the technical work for our Bombardier Q300 fleet.

Along with working for a company that provides world class quality and reliability standards for our customers, we also provide excellent on site and ongoing training for staff.

Hours of work

The majority of our work is completed at night while the aircraft is not in service. This means that you would need to be available for shift work.

Positions

Component Workshop Engineer

This position is primarily responsible for the servicing of aircraft Ni-cad batteries but will also include the servicing of other avionic and electrical components. Previous battery servicing, avionics or electrical experience will be viewed favourably and previous aircraft experience is not essential.

Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (L.A.M.E)

This position forms part of the team that is responsible for servicing and rectification of our aircraft and systems.

Our Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers work in the specialist area of either avionics or mechanical engineering work.

Trainee Engineers

We usually have a team of between two to six trainee engineers at one time. This is a great opportunity to start the aviation engineering industry.

NMIT and Air New Zealand both provide pre-employment courses for aviation engineering. If you are interested in working with Air Nelson Engineering please contact us before applying for the course.

Support Roles

In our engineering team we require people with specific skills to work in our support roles. Support roles can be in the area of Inventory, Purchasing and Stock Control, Maintenance Planning and Technical Support.
